Meeting with Stepan Horechyi (2017)

Meeting with a former activist of the OUN movement in Ukraine, former political prisoner of GULAG, who took part in the Norilsk appraisal.

During this meeting young participants from Ukraine, Poland and Germany asked not simple questions connected with the resistance movement to the occupation regomes, life being imprisoned, resistance to the. All these questions had been prepared by participants before the meeting, and after it they presented small reviews of what they heard about the life of Mr.Horechyi, how they understood the resistance movements in Ukrane during the 2WW.

The meeting was organised on 7th July 2017 in Lviv within the History Begins in the Family international youth project, a joint initiative of the Foundations for Freedom INGO as part of the Ukrainian Action: Healing the Past programme (Ukraine), International Youth Meeting Centre in Oświęcim/Auschwitz (Poland), and Lower Saxony Memorials Foundation/Bergen-Belsen Memorial (Germany). The project was supported by the German-Polish Youth Office, the Friedrich Ebert Foundation in Poland, Irene Prestwich Trust (UK), German Embassy in Kyiv and Ukrainian-Polish Cooperation Foundation (PAUCI).
